New Reports Format

We have recently upgraded our Team Manger software (version 4 to version 5). One of the benifits of the upgrade is additional reporting formats including the creation of PDF files. All future Entry, Acceptance and Result reports will be displayed using the PDF format.

The first PDF report, the East District Age Championships December 2009 results is available in results section.

Club Championships

The club championship times and results are now available on the website. Please note that places are based on timebands within an event. Any questions regarding results should be directed to Mitch Hiddleston.

Courses for Officials

A Judge 1 course has been arranged for Wed 25th November at St Margarets between 7-9. You do not have to have completed the timekeepers course to do this. Minimum age is 15.

Dolphins has arranged a Judge 2 course on Tuesday the 24th November also at St Margaret's. Times to be confirmed but it is likely to be the same as the judge 1 course. You must have completed the Judge 1 course to do this.

Jan Harvey has offered to do a time keepers course on the Thursday if anyone is interested please let me know – minimum age is 14.

Lothian Graded Meet

URGENT
The graded meet on Saturday 14 November has been moved from Prestonpans to Kirkaldy.

Due to unforeseen problems at Prestonpans Pool whereby the pool has been closed until further notice, we have had to take the decision to move the Lothian Graded Meet to Kirkcaldy Swimming Pool.

As there is a time restriction at Kirkcaldy all swims on the day will now be heat declared winner, in order that there is no necessity to reduce the number of swims.

Warm up and start times have been changed to:

Morning – Warm Up 8:30am

Start 9:30am

Afternoon - Warm Up 12:30pm

Start 01:30pm

We have been unable to obtain full AOE equipment at such short notice for the 14^th November but we will be running the meet with semi-automatic timing.

Please email Susan Liddle, Meet Entry Secretary on susan@dwliddle.co.uk if you have any withdrawals due to change of venue – refunds will be given for any swims that have to be withdrawn due to the change of venue.

CLUB OFFICIALS

As we have a very full programme it is important that we have sufficient technical officials to ensure the smooth running of the competition on the day and I would urge you to ensure your club is providing at least one technical official for each of the sessions.

TIMEKEEPER COURSE

We are running a timekeeper course at St Margaret's on 27th August from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

If there are any parents out there who would like to do the course please contact Laura Crawford (laucrwf at aol.com) as soon as possible to get your place booked as spaces are limitted.

We would particularly like to see some of the younger swimmers' parents doing the course as we are always short of timekeepers for galas with the younger swimmers.

Thomas Harkins (Jnr) swim the channel

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS and WELL DONE to THOMAS HARKINS for completing his English Channel swim challenge on Thursday, 11th June. He started swimming around 6am ish and finished around about 4pm ish, 1360 lengths later (34 km or 21 miles, to put in perspective if you walked from Livingston, you would be at Strathclyde Country Park before you could stop).

Thomas would like to thank everyone who supported him in his quest to raise funds to take him to Lourdes in July to do some Voluntary work.
